This is a pretty easy to follow tutorial where all the dots of the blinkie are made for you
This tutorial was created by me....however I have learned to make these blinkies by
following other techniques on the web.
Thank-You to all Tutorial writers
Save this file
to your pc and open in Paint Shop Pro
(dont panic the canvas is supposed to be empty)
First of all, duplicate this canvas and close the original so you have it safe for future use.
Window > Duplicate.
1. Go to Selections > Load from Alpha Channel > Choose the Background
Layer > OK
On your canvas you should see a heart shape of marching ants.
Grab your flood fill tool, select the colour you wish your heart to be and fill......
I am using WHITE.
While it is still selected, add an inner bevel
Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel > with these settings.
Selections > Select None.
2. On the same layer, go to selections > Load from alpha channel >
Outer Edge > OK
This will show a rim of marching ants round the edge of your heart.
Choose a colour and flood fill, I am using RED. after you have flood filled and
while still selected...add the same inner bevel as before in step 1.
3. Add a new layer ...at this stage you can add any decoration you want,
make sure all items are on separate layers so you can delete and move them if you are not happy.
I am simply going to add my name and apply the same inner bevel as above....
followed by a drop shadow.
Once you are finished adding decor..... merge your layers
Layers >Merge > Merge Visible.
4. Go to your layer palette, you should have 1 layer called Merged ....right click the layer and
duplicate, do this twice so you have 3 layers
Highlight the bottom layer and hide the top 2 layers by clicking the glasses
5. Selections > Load from alpha channel > choose "Dots 1" > OK
On the rim of your heart you will see the selections of the dots, Grab the flood fill tool,
choose the colour you want to fill with ( I am using WHITE), click inside one of the dots
and they will all fill with the same colour
selections > select none.
6. On the layer palette, click to highlight the middle layer and hide the other 2.....
selections > load from alpha channel > choose "dots 2" > OK
once again fill with colour and select none
NOTE; I prefer to fill all layers with the same colour dots, because they dont seem to follow
sequence as good if they are different colours, but you can have different colours for
different layers if you wish.
7. Layer Palette, Highlight the top layer and hide the bottom 2 layers,
Selections > Load from alpha channel > Choose "Dots 3" > OK
Fill with colour and select none.
8. Go to your layer palette, unhide all layers and save as PSP format to a folder you will remember.
Now for the animation part
File > JASC Software Products > Launch Animation Shop.
