This tutorial is written in and for PSP Version 7 and assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP.
Any resemblence to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

For this tutorial you will need the following
There are quite a few supplies needed
Please make sure you have everything before starting the tutorial

  • Paint Shop Pro, get it HERE
  • My zip file, get it HERE
    The zip file contains the template and silver gradient.
    Open the template in psp, place the gradient in your PSP gradient folder.
  • Super BladePro, get it HERE
    Install to your PSP Plugin folder
  • SBP Preset, get it HERE
    Place in your PSP SBP Environments and textures folder.
  • My Gem Tubes, get them HERE
    You will need one set of Gems plus the Heart accent tube
  • VM Natural Filters, get it HERE
    Install to your PSP Plugin folder.
  • Eye Candy 3, get it HERE
    Install to your PSP plugin folder


Lets Begin!!

1. Open the template and gems in psp
minimise the gems and activate the template
Selections > Load from alpha channel > heart1 > OK
Selections > Modify > Expand > 2 pixels > fill with white
Effects > plugins > super bladepro and fill with the smooth gold preset
select none.

2. Grab the magic wand, select inside the heart, selections > modify >expand 1 pixel
Add a new layer then fill with the silver gradient.
while still selected add an inner bevel with these settings



select none and move this layer to the bottom of the layer palette
Activate the top layer and paste the heart accents as a new layer.
position at the top of the heart add a drop shadow with these settings
Horizontal and Vertical = 3
Opacity = 50
Blur = 12
color = #808080
Layers > Merge visible

3. Duplicate this layer and postion your hearts as you want them
Name the underneath heart layer as heart 1 and the other layer heart 2
Activate heart 1 and paste the drops as a new layer
Position this with the point of the heart and add the drop shadow as before in step 2

4. Activate your large gem and resize to 80%
Copy and paste this onto your heart 2 layer, position and add the drop shadow from step 2

5. Layers merge visible and resize to 70% all layers unchecked

6. Effects > plugins > EC3 > perspective shadow with these settings



7. Add a new layer, place at the bottom of the layer palette and fill with white

8. Activate the heart layer and add a new layer
Add your name using your fave font in white apply the smooth gold sbp preset
Add the drop shadow to your name then colours > adjust brightness and contrast with these settings
Brightness = 20 Contrast = 0

9. Activate the heart layer and duplicate it twice..name them heart 1, 2 & 3
Hide heart 2 & 3 activate heart 1.
Effects > Plugins > apply the VM natural sparkle with these settings
max size 25, random seed 130 leave all other settings on 255
layers merge visible and save as heart 1 in psp format

10. Undo merge layers, hide heart1, activate heart 2 and apply the sparkle again with these settings
Max size 25 random seed 110 leave other settings
Layers merge visible and save as heart 2 in psp format

11. Undo merge layers, hide heart 2, and activate heart3, apply sparkle with settings
max size 25 random seed 90
merge visible and save as heart3 psp format

12. Open AS and use the animation wizard to bring your 3 frames together, setting the speed to 20
Crop any excess white and save as a gif
Viola, elegant hearts!!!
